Kinze’s Culture of Innovation

Almost a year ago, we unveiled the new 4900 series planter.  This innovative, front fold planter comes in 12, 16 and 24 rows with 30” spacing. It has many desirable features including the all new vacuum meter with an electric option providing 99.5%+ accuracy up to 8mph! Kinze built a brand new manufacturing facility on our campus in Williamsburg, Iowa specifically to produce this new technology driven planter. If you haven’t yet had a chance to learn about this innovative new planter, you owe it to yourself to check out this video:

But the real story isn’t necessarily the innovative features themselves (which are, by the way, really cool). The real story is about how those innovations came about in the first place.  We take pride in the fact that our people, besides being outstanding engineers, product managers and equipment operators, are also very good listeners and team players.  Innovation isn’t just the job of the product engineers. It’s the job of everyone who works at Kinze.

In our offices, on the plant floor, and even on our test grounds, you’ll find different teams of people working together, sharing ideas and solving challenges.  This “cross-functional” approach helps product innovations spread faster because team members take ideas and innovations from one team to the next and one product to the next, where they are tested, challenged and often improved.

It’s this kind of team culture that has, over the years, led Kinze to innovations like the reliable bulk fill system, robust planter folding frames, exclusive hydraulic weight transfer, precision vacuum seed metering and the game-changing electric meter drive.

What’s the ultimate result of this culture of innovation? Simply the best planters and grain carts to ever cross the field…for now!
