On Wednesday, August 2, 2018 many guests attended the Experience Kinze Field Day at Kinze headquarters in Williamsburg, Iowa. The day was organized to provide the attendees an overview of the latest Kinze planter technologies and products along with opportunities to witness field demonstrations and participate in planter test-rides.
During the morning presentations, Kinze personnel delivered an overview of the new features for planters for 2019:
Blue Vantage. Kinze’s new, easy to use planter display – so simple, that it requires settings be confirmed on only three screens to be ready to plant.
Blue Drive. Kinze’s second-generation electric drive system – works seamlessly with the Blue Vantage display to deliver seed exactly where it needs to be.
True Depth. Kinze’s intelligent hydraulic depth control system provides row-by-row automatic down force for consistent seed depth and optimal crop emergence.
In addition, the crowd got a sneak peek at a new, lower profile dual auger grain cart that will make its debut at the upcoming Farm Progress Show at Boone, Iowa.
After lunch, guests were transported to the demonstration grounds to witness field demonstrations of the new Kinze Mach Till hybrid-horizontal tillage tool. Operating at 10 mph through hay ground, standing corn, sorghum, and canola, the Mach Till 261 was demonstrated in very extreme* conditions. At the same time, two competitor’s machines were operating in the same field to enable observers to view performance and final soil finish results side-by-side. Just for fun, after the initial demonstrations were over, Jon Kinzenbaw’s twin-engine re-powered John Deere 8850, locally known as “Double-Trouble”, came around the corner pulling the 40′ wide Mach Till 401.
After the tillage demonstration, many took advantage of the opportunity to take a test ride in either a 4900 or 3660 planter equipped with the new Blue Drive electric drive and operated by the new Blue Vantage display. During the ride, participants were given an overview of the system and then set up the system to operate. Everyone was impressed with the clean and simple design of the Blue Vantage display and the ease of operation to set up and plant.
The day concluded with open time for all to re-visit displays, talk to product specialists, and tour the Kinze Innovation Center and factory. For all, it was a great day of demonstrations, conversations, and experiencing Kinze!
*While these crops conditions were extreme, they were not typical of spring and fall conditions. Additional Mach Till demonstrations are being scheduled for Fall 2018 – contact your local dealer to find or schedule one.
