Wrapping Up the 2017 Harvest
November 27, 2017 Crop Report The latest USDA "Crop Progress" report came out on November 27, 2017, and reported that 95% of corn has been harvested in the primary production states. This compares to 90% harvested the previous week, 98% a year ago, and the 5-year average of 98%. The report did not report on soybean acres. For the full report with state-by-state data, click here. Agritechnica is the world’s largest indoor agricultural machinery and technology show, featuring 2,900 exhibitors from 52 countries. It is a week-long show that is held every two years in Hanover, Germany. Just under half a million visitors travel from all over the world to Agritechnica to see the latest technology and industry trends. Not only do visitors travel great distances to Agritechnica, they also cover a lot of ground during the show. There are 23 exhibit halls containing about 4.2 million square feet of exhibit space. Harvest Nears Completion
November 6, 2017 USDA Report Earlier this week, the USDA "Crop Progress" report came out reporting that 70% of corn, and 90% of soybeans have been harvested in the primary production states. This compares to 84% of corn and 92% of soybeans harvested by this time last year, and a five year average of 83% for corn and 91% for soybeans. Farm Progress Show 2017
The Farm Progress Show is a great place to see the latest innovations in the agriculture industry. This year, Kinze featured an industry-changing planter prototype that garnered a lot of attention at the show. Kinze also launched new grain cart and planter features. Kinze Power Products In 1988, recognizing the demand for replacement engines on the 86 Series John Deere four-wheel-drive tractors, Kinze jumped back into the re-power business. One of the first projects was re-powering a John Deere 8630 with a Cummins 855 engine.
